Iran Reports Attack on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, During Regional Counterattacks.
Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Manama, as the country executed missile attacks across the region in response for a "massive" and ongoing assault against it by the US and Israel.
Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an zone in the area of the main base of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The scope of any impact is uncertain and the United States has yet to issue a statement.
Regional Interceptions
Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to American military installations - stated they have engaged and destroyed incoming projectiles in their airspace.
In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had intercepted several missiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the region.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) declared it was targeting US bases and assets as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the attack on the Islamic Republic initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday.
That initial attack - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on areas linked to the the regime, with President Trump calling on the people of Iran to rise up against the government.
Additional Developments
In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israeli military stated it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates stated that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems engaged the missiles with high efficiency and successfully intercepted a several projectiles," the statement continued.
It said wreckage fell on a residential area in the capital, causing some material damage and the death of one civilian.
The US Air Force is stationed at the Al Dhafra base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
