NFL 2025 season: Week six

Real-time updates includes text commentary for Sunday's games on various channels, beginning with the Broncos-Jets clash at Tottenham (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Additionally, audio coverage can be heard through designated networks covering another key matchup (beginning at 9 PM BST).

We're in the sixth week of the football calendar , following recent talk regarding the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles being a potential Super Bowl match-up, they both lost their unbeaten records.

Notable during those contests was the number of penalties both committed. Philadelphia did so in key moments so they essentially beat themselves having led by two touchdowns entering the final quarter against the Denver Broncos, set to play overseas this weekend.

But it proved good to see that Denver's QB Bo Nix was able to have that deficit before lead three successful possessions on three possessions in the fourth quarter, to win the victory 21-17.

The Broncos have the defensive player of the year with CB their star corner. They are number one in goal-line defense, while the Eagles are number one in red zone offence, and Denver prevailed in that contest.

They had the Eagles' number in terms of disguised blitzes. They weren't necessarily rushing extra pass rushers instead they might position two linebackers in the 'A' gap then drop them out and dispatch a nickel off the edge.

Early on in the campaign, we said during a show how Denver might emerge as this season's dark horses. They finished the previous year well and did a good job of building upon that.

Are the Denver Broncos this season's underdog story?

New tight end their tight end has stepped up significantly and recent running back JK Dobbins is a guy they believe in. He now ranks 5th in the NFL for rushing yards (402) and tied for fourth for rushing touchdowns (four).

It's impressive how the coach Sean Payton displays "RUSH!" prominently of his playcall sheet.

This demonstrates how the Broncos represent a squad aiming to prioritize the run, since you can do a lot off the back of that. It slows down the pass rush while keeps you in favourable down and distances.

It's also benefited QB the young passer, who came into the league as a first-round selection last year, passing for 29 touchdown passes – second only to Justin Herbert for the rookie record (31 back in 2020).

Other elite QBs have the arm strength to throw anywhere, however they don't move the mobility that Nix has. He boasts incredible arm talent, a unique trait, plus he's highly agile.

His assets include his movement, being able to throw on the run, and using different arm angles to make throws as he moves out of the pocket, the bootlegs. He is able to deliver precision throws over the middle or past defenders.

For a young quarterback, aged 25, he's got great poise in the pocket and is not really fazed by the blitz. He tries to avoid being tackled as much as possible and is able pass under pressure. He has a high football IQ and remains quick to decide.

When you constantly run the ball it consumes time and forces the opponent to stay in play extended periods, and when you have an athletic quarterback the defense has to cover the field downfield and horizontally. It can be exhausting.

Nix has pushed back at Payton on the sideline at times and it seems the coach appreciates that fire, that he's a fierce rival. In my view it's exciting for him to have a young quarterback who's similar to play-dough. The coach can truly develop him how he desires to build it. I believe it's a unique opportunity for the coach.

The head coach has won a Super Bowl and has passed Bill Parcells in all-time victories (173, tying for 14th). He's seen everything. In my opinion the achievements Denver are experiencing offensively is largely due to his guidance, his schemes, his game sense – and the combination with Nix aids shape him what he is.

There's no better a more qualified person in your ear, to help you during some of the tougher situations and build confidence.

I believe in the Broncos' defense, in the QB's grit and calm. Yet is the team good enough to go against a top squad at its best? Because that was not a Super Bowl performance from Philadelphia in their last game.

Right now, I don't think the Broncos are elite. They're performing above average, which is a good place to be in the AFC West. The key is is maintain this trajectory.

They excel at leaning into their strength, that is the ground game, and this is exactly what they must do against the New York Jets at Tottenham. It will likely be the JK Dobbins show, in essence.

The Jets have surrendered 140 rushing yards per game (among the worst), five ground scores this season (10th worst), and they're the sole squad without a win any game.

Since the league began tracking turnovers in 1933, this team are the first team to be without a single takeaway in five outings, this is surprising when you think that their new coach was previously defensive co-ordinator at the Detroit Lions.

The Chiefs' QB stated Kansas City have 'already lost too many games' after a recent loss by the Jaguars.

After the upcoming matchup, Denver have a smooth-ish schedule up to their break (in week twelve) - the New York Giants, the Cowboys, the Texans plus Las Vegas Raiders prior to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Looking at the AFC West, the Chiefs hold a losing record and the Broncos are even with the Chargers on 3-2 meaning they could challenge at leading the division.

This hinges upon which form Kansas City shows up they face because the Broncos {beat|def
