A campaign is aiming to propel a cultural melody to the peak of the festive singles chart. The project hopes to provide aid to communities in Gaza while also highlighting Palestinian artistic heritage.

A Possibility for Unity and an "Chart Upset"

Composer and producer Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a moment to show solidarity with Palestinians over the Christmas period. He acknowledged the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“That would be amazing if that happened, yes,” he stated. “I wouldn't be completely disappointed if it fails to, holiday tracks are a category of their own.”

Resilient Spirit of Self-Determination

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who performs on the reimagining of a traditional lullaby called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the song's resilient spirit.

“It occupies a deeply meaningful spot for many individuals,” Barghouti explained. “The message is that I would choose to perish with honor than live a life without freedom. That is the core idea of the song; we seek to lead a life of dignity that we deserve as Palestinians.”

Track's Background and Star-Studded Lineup

The single was laid down following a major charity concert held in the autumn. Originally intended to be captured during the live event, the performance was cut from the show due to scheduling overruns.

The notable list of performers featured on Lullaby features a selection of prominent voices from the music world. All participated in the benefit event, which reportedly raised a significant sum for charitable causes.

Final Touches and Availability

Lullaby was brought to life by a group of music creators. The song showcases a fusion of the heritage language with contemporary English verses.

The team running the project have clarified that their goal is to collect the highest amount for a dedicated fund. These donations will be allocated to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an established charity.

“We haven't set a rigid aim,” a figure commented. “We’ll go for as much as possible. Naturally, the higher the total, the greater the impact. All proceeds are directed out to the people of Gaza.”

The situation in the territory was characterized as its widespread damage, with a vast majority of property reportedly levelled or seriously harmed.

“Given that reality, a couple of million is unlikely to make a massive dent. But I think what truly matters is primarily spreading knowledge of this plight and demonstrating that another narrative exists.”

The single 'Lullaby' is set to be released this Friday. Additionally, a complete film of the benefit event will be made accessible to view on a digital service from later in the month.
